I have always loved fantasy so of course I
expected that I would love Lord of the Rings, the ultimate fantasy
story. I read the Hobbit and loved it, I started LOTR Fellowship of the
Ring and got through about half the book before putting it down.. it was
just too dense. And of course I was only 11 years old. I remember seeing
the Hobbit and LOTR cartoon and really enjoying it but I wouldn't pick
up the books again until the announcement of the Peter Jackson movies. I
started reading Fellowship of the Ring right before the movie came out.
Fellowship came out and I saw it on opening day and was in love. I
totally loved every minute of this movie. I went back and watch it
multiple times and counted down the days until The Two Towers was
released. I also picked up all three books from LOTR and The Hobbit on
CD and started to alternate between Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.
I really enjoyed The Two Towers and once again counted the days down
until Return of the King was out. I actually went to a screening at
Cinerama Dome screening where they were showing Fellowship of the Rings
Extended Edition and then The Two Towers Extended Edition and then the
premiere of Return of the King. It was 17 hours of Lord of the Rings
Goodness and I loved every minute of it. I have purchased all the DVD's
and watch the Extended Edition multiple times a year. And I will be
first in line with The Hobbit comes to theaters very soon.
